When is the final payment due?
At the wedding. We usually get the cheque during the reception.
I suggest that you have your parents or a friend handle the
payment, since you will have better things to do that day.
What about Lunch?
I strongly suggest you plan a quick lunch on
the way to the first photo site. I also suggest fruits and candy to
keep your energy up during the day. To many people forget to eat,
and later feel dizzy and grumpy.
Also remember that alcohol on a empty stomach is not
pleasant. Ensure your groomsmen are eating! We like happy
memories.
Can you take 'this' photo?
Probably. Contact me and I will let you know.
How many photos do you take?
On average we leave a wedding with around 2000 pictures. After
those are gone through we usually give you the best 10-25% of
those.
How many locations can we visit for pictures?
As many as you want. Just remember that travel time cuts into
how many pictures you will get. My general rule of thumb is 1
location per hour of shooting time.
How many spots at the reception are needed?
At a usual wedding we require two reception spots, as it is
usually myself and an assistant/ photographers.
What about rain?
We check weather forecasts before every wedding, and if rain is
predicted we will contact you to see how to proceed. We do
not have any indoor locations specifically at our
disposal, so if you fear rain we suggest booking a indoor location
yourself.
Feel free to contact me for suggestions.
I've never shot a wedding that has been ruined due to rain; or
snow in June!
What if I am uncomfortable with a male photographer when changing, etc?
As a professional I do my best to have propriety and leave the
room or look away during any changing. As a Christian male I also
have a policy that I do not take any lingerie or nude shots, even
if requested. If this is teh type of photography you would like, I
would suggest trying other photographers.
Occasionally I shoot with a female assistant who will be with
the bride while she gets ready. However, whether it is myself or an
assistant, we will leave the room at your request at any time for
any reason. It is your wedding, and we want you to be totally
comfortable.
Do you use flash during the ceremony/reception?
Usually yes. It is your wedding though and if you do not want
it, or can't have it, we always accommodate you.
Do you take family pictures at wedding?
Yes. We request you let your families know not to leave right
after the ceremony at the ceremony location, as that is usually the
most convenient time to take them for most weddings.
How much time do we need for photos?
I suggest around three hours set aside specifically for
pictures.
If you have multiple locations, my rule of thumb is to allocate
1 hour per location you want to shoot at. That gives enough
time for travel, setup and pictures.
I do not suggest setting to much time towards pictures. If
you have 5 hours between the ceremony and reception, I recommend
using part of that time to relax and spend some time together.
That said, I will shoot whatever you have. I have shot for
an hour, and up to four hours straight before. It is your
wedding!
Should we thank the photographers at the reception?
Like with all professionals hired for your wedding day
(including caterers, servers, bands, djs, pastors, etc) is is
proper and polite to thank them during your reception. I do not
require it, but appreciate it.
The biggest compliment you can give me is to refer me to your
friends and family.
What does "All Day Shoot" mean?
We will meet with the bride when she first starts getting ready
in the morning on the day of the wedding. If there are two
shooters, the second will meet with the groom when he first starts
getting ready. We usaully leave after the third dance at the
reception or after approximately 10 hours of shooting. Much more
than the typical 4-6 hour photographer.
The maximum time included in a contract is 12
hours. If you want more than 12 hours coverage there will be
additional charges.
Specifics will be decided when we discuss the contract as every
wedding is unique.
